New Gouache Painting- Having fun with this black paper. I did the roses on this first and was considering what kind of creatures to add. A friend suggested I look at moths instead of butterflies, in particular the Luna moth. So, it got added and then the beetle and of course, a spider.

“Ghost Bloom” New Watercolor
I’m really having fun with the black paper. As a result, I can present the new painting, “Ghost Bloom”.
And it’s framed. Not a great picture. I’ll replace it when I get a better one.
Nighttime Bouquet
My latest endeavor with the black paper! I am so liking this.
White Poppies
I came across a piece of art online of some flowers done on black paper. I’ve tried working on black paper with watercolor and only gotten muted results. But, when I looked the piece of artwork up, it said that she had done it using gouache. So, I gave it another try and I think I am in love with this process! This is my first gouache on black paper. There will definitely be more to come!

Poppies
I love Poppies. They’re almost like paper flowers that come with their own little fireworks display. When the pods are ripe, they explode seeds everywhere. How cool is that?
Cassie’s Flowers – Oil Painting
When I lost my little Floofster, Cassie, the pet company Chewy sent me a bouquet of flowers in sympathy. I was stunned at this. I have never heard of a company that did such a thing, but it was very touching. I decided to immortalize these blooms with a painting. At the front is her favorite toy, a feather wand. She was very picky about her “feathers”. I brought many of these into the house, but she only liked this particular type and I lost the source for them. Hence, the rather ragged look of it. But, she loved that wand and would holler through the house with it in her mouth when she wanted you to play with her.
